  • How do I get started?

Buyers / Businesses "Buyers" are people that need design work completed.

To get started, simply click the pink "Start a Project!" button and follow these simple steps:

    1. Select the project category (the type of design that you need).

    2. Name your price and complete the simple design brief questionnaire.

    3. Enter a valid payment method to pay for your project fees on the final step of the design brief to officially post your project.

    4. Wait for the designers to begin submitting design entries and score each design entry with detailed feedback for the best results.

    5. Pick your favorite design entry when the project timeframe expires and download the final files in the "Wrap Up" phase section of the Designs Desk Account Dashboard.

Designers "Designers" are people that want to submit design entries and get paid for their design skills:

To join the Designs Desk community and start participating in design projects, follow these simple steps:

    1. Sign up for a "Designer" account on the Sign Up page.

    2. Browse open design projects and start submitting designs on the projects that you're interested in.

    3. After you find projects that you want to work on, visit the individual project pages and click the "Submit Your Design" button. As you submit design concepts, the Buyers will score your entries with detailed revisions feedback. Quality work is always rewarded and you'll be paid for your work each time a Buyer selects your design concept as the "winning entry".

The top designers will be showcased on our "Designers Leaderboard", which makes it easier to be found by Buyers and is recognition of the "Best of the Best" on Designs Desk.

If you didn't like any of the designs submitted, simply send us a message within 7 days of your project closing and Designs Desk will issue a full refund for the entire cost of your project.

What happens to the designs if I ask for a refund?

If you ask for a refund on your project, you are NOT legally entitled to use any of the designs submitted to your project.

  • How is copyright handled? Who owns the designs?

Each designer owns the copyright to their designs until they have been selected as a "winning designer" by the Buyer. The Designer transfers the rights over the winning design to the Buyer at the end of the project, during the "Wrap Up" phase. The "Wrap Up" phase gives both the designer and buyer the ability to electronically sign the Design Handover Agreement. After both parties electronically sign the Design Handover Agreement and the designer uploads the final files during the "Wrap Up" phase, the ownership rights are transferred to the Buyer.

  • What is the project Wrap Up phase?

After a buyer selects a winning design entry as the winner, the project will move into the "Wrap Up" phase. The Wrap Up phase allows the buyer and designer to communicate any finishing touches / final revisions to the design and facilitates the actual exchange of the final design files.

During the Wrap Up phase, the buyer and designer are given access to a shared page to communicate on a 1-to-1 basis to complete the project. The buyer can request revisions / updates to the winning design entry and download the final design files. The designer can submit the revised designs on the Wrap Up phase page and upload the final files.

After the buyer is satisfied with the final design files, the Buyer can approve the payment to allow Designs Desk to transfer the money to the designer. After the "Approve Files and Release Payment" button is clicked by the buyer, the project is officially complete and the designer gets paid.
